Ikaros Solar builds and exploits solar panel farms. Since these farms mostly are located in quite remote areas and therefore might be attractive for burglary and/or vandalism, a solid security system is a must.
The currently ongoing project is Goose Willow Farm, which will finally have a capacity of 16 MWp. JADEC is building the complete fence measuring 5 km, and equipping this with an advanced detection system to avoid climbing over or breaking the fence.
In case of an alarm, cameras will immediately visualise the actual location of where the alarm was set off, and transfer both alarm and image via satellite to the emergency room.
This project is a prime example of how different systems are integrated, such as access control, perimeter security, burglary detection and camera surveillance.
